The name “DeBrand” was born from the combination of the French prefix “De,” meaning “from,” and my last name, “Brand.” Growing up in a family immersed in the confectionery arts, I began working with chocolate at the age of eight, selling my sweet creations to classmates. By high school, I had moved on to designing and selling wedding cakes. Yet my true passion was always the creative process of making fine chocolates, and I dreamed of opening a “real chocolate shop” when I grew up. That dream became a reality in 1987, in my hometown of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
At DeBrand, we pride ourselves on crafting chocolate from the finest ingredients, using fresh, local sources as well as carefully selected imports from Belgium, Switzerland, France, and beyond. Each piece is meticulously created, beautifully packaged, and presented in our DeBrand Fine Chocolates retail shops, which reflect our commitment to first-class ambiance and exceptional customer service rooted in “The Golden Rule.” Our chocolates can also be found in other fine stores across the country. From my childhood home to our current 30,000-square-foot facility, excellence remains the cornerstone of DeBrand Fine Chocolates.
I feel truly blessed to have all three of my daughters and my husband working alongside me at DeBrand! And our staff might as well be family too – many have been with us for 5, 10, 20, or even over 30 years as have countless loyal customers. What could be better than being surrounded by family and chocolate?
